JOHNNYDAVIS

Johnny arrived at WIVR in January of 2011 and can be heard during afternoon drive, 11am-7 pm Monday-Friday on River Country. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, he got his start in radio in 1990 at a little 1,000-watt News-Talk station in Deland, Florida. After that, he spent about 10 years doing radio in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin market. Marrying his high school sweetheart, Mary, is what brought him to Bourbonnais to settle down.

Johnny loves living in the Land of Lincoln, and especially enjoys the opportunity to follow all of his favorite Chicago sports teams close-by, including the Bears on River Country. Other interests include great music, good food (especially biscuits and gravy for breakfast), wierd movies, retro TV, Food Network, history, J.R.R. Tolkien (and other geeky stuff), and spending quiet time at home with his new wife.

Good morning ! My wife, Mary, works third shift, which allows us to spend mornings together. She generally cooks us breakfast, too ! Today she made pancakes FROM A CAN ! Seriously, I didn't know these existed, but there she was, squirting pancake batter out of a whipped-cream-style can onto the griddle. They weren't bad, but how wierd !

We are really enjoying this unseasonably warm weather. We expected a brutal winter, but how many serious snowfalls have we had ? 2 ? Lovin it !
